Historijski pogledi, čiji je izdavač Centar za istraživanje moderne i savremene historije Tuzla je pokrenut s ciljem pružanja dodatnog poticaja razvoju historijske nauke u Bosni i Hercegovini, osobito u proučavanju i istraživanju pitanja koja su vezana za modernu i savremenu historiju, kao i stvaranju novog prostora za objavljivanje rezultata istraživanja iz oblasti historiografije, kako afirmiranim historičarima tako i mladim istraživačima, polaznicima postdiplomskih i doktorskih studija, profesorima historije, ali i drugim stručnjacima srodnih nauka koji mogu ponuditi radove u skladu sa naučnim i stručnim standardima časopisa. Historijski pogledi pokrenuti su temeljem svijesti da historijskoj nauci treba osigurati povoljniji status u naučnom životu Bosne i Hercegovine te u bosanskohercegovačkom društvu uopće, uključujući potrebu afirmacije historijskih uvida kao važne pretpostavke humanizacije društvenih odnosa u Bosni i Hercegovini i na prostoru bivše jugoslavenske države.
Glavni kriterij za objavljivanje radova u Historijskim pogledima jeste njihova naučna i stručna utemeljenost i kvalitet. Redakcija će rado objavljivati članke iz različitih historijskih područja, od političke, kulturne, privredne, vojne do intelektualne historije, od lokalnih tema do pitanja nacionalnog, regionalnog i šireg značaja. Struktura časopisa obuhvata članke, prikaze, izvještaje i aktivnosti Centra za istraživanje moderne i savremene historije Tuzla. Časopis Historijski pogledi izlazi dva puta godišnje. Pratit će i objavljivati radove koji budu izlagani na naučnim konferencijama u okviru Naučnog projekta “Historijski pogledi”.
Svi istraživački članci dostavljeni Redakciji prolaze kroz strog proces naučne provjere zasnovan na inicijalnom pregledu u redakciji i dve anonimne spoljne recenzije. Radovi se objavljuju na bosanskom, hrvatskom i srpskom jeziku (latinicom) i engleskom jeziku.
Časopis se nalazi u režimu otvorenog pristupa (Open Access Journal). Časopis je u cijelosti dostupan bez ograničenja, te dozvoljava autorima da objave završnu verzjiu rada u PDF formatu u repozitorij ustanove odnosno nekomercijalnu bazu.

Autori se moraju pridržavati tehničkih uputstava za priređivanje teksta, Čikaškog stila citiranja i etičkih principa objavljivanja radova. U suprotnom, radovi će biti odbijeni ili naknadno povučeni. Vrijeme koje je potrebno da prođe od postupka podnošenja rada do konačne objave u časopisu je četiri do pet mjeseci.
Treća lica mogu da koriste članak iz časopisa na način koji nije utvrđen Uređivačkom politikom i odredbama Creative Commons licence samo ako za to dobiju pisanu saglasnost izdavača časopisa (zahtjeve slati na elektronsku adresu redakcije, odnosno cimoshis@gmail.com).

Časopis Historijski pogledi ne naplaćuje Submission Charge ni Article Processing Charge, odnosno, postupak predavanja rukopisa, recenzija i objavljivanje radova su besplatni.
Historical Views, published by the Center for Research of Modern and Contemporary History Tuzla was launched with the aim of providing additional impetus to the development of historical science in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the study and research of issues related to modern and contemporary history. publishing research results in the field of historiography, both to affirmed historians and young researchers, postgraduate and doctoral students, history professors, but also other experts in related sciences who can offer papers in accordance with scientific and professional standards of the journal. Historical views are based on the awareness that historical science should be given a more favorable status in the scientific life of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Bosnian society in general, including the need to affirm historical insights as an important prerequisite for humanizing social relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the former Yugoslav state.
The main criterion for publishing papers in Historical Perspectives is their scientific and professional foundation and quality. The editorial board will be happy to publish articles from various historical fields, from political, cultural, economic, military to intellectual history, from local topics to issues of national, regional and wider significance. The structure of the journal includes articles, reviews, reports and activities of the Center for Research of Modern and Contemporary History Tuzla. The journal Historical Views is published twice a year. It will monitor and publish papers that will be exhibited at scientific conferences within the Scientific project – Conference “Historical Views”.
All research articles submitted to the Editorial Board go through a rigorous scientific review process based on an initial review by the Editorial Board and two anonymous external reviews. Papers are published in Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (Latin) and English.
The journal is in Open Access Journal mode. The journal is fully available without restrictions, and allows authors to publish the final version of the paper in PDF format in the repository of the institution or non-commercial database.

Authors must adhere to the technical guidelines for editing the text, the Chicago style of citation, and the ethical principles of publishing papers. Otherwise, the works will be rejected or subsequently withdrawn. The time required to pass from the submission process to the final publication in the journal is four to five months.
Third parties may use the article from the journal in a manner not determined by the Editorial Policy and the provisions of the Creative Commons license only if they obtain the written consent of the publisher (send requests to the e-mail address of the editorial office, or cimoshis@gmail.com).
